Alpinarium Galtür
The building of the Alpinarium is part of an avalanche barrier erected
in 1999. It represents a unique institution with an exhibition site
of 900 m2, an academy and a network for international cooperation.
The Alpinarium opened its doors to public on May 31st, 2003. In the
exhibition "Galtür unter einem Dach - Galtür under
one roof" inhabitants of the village are portrayed. Through the
photographical description of the people and their living environment,
we try to make the visitor feel the fascination of this specific village.
Interviews complete the visual image and get the visitor involved
in further information about the natural and cultural history of this
habitat.
Due to the salt storage in Hall the Alpinarium Galtür will present
the Tyrolean Landesausstellung 2005 with the titel "Zukunft der
Natur - Future of Nature". Until 2005 new exhibition bricks will
be added which are dedicated to the relationship between man and nature
in the Alpine region in past, present and future.

The Alpinarium Galtür is located at the
center of the village near the church and beside the alpine street
Silvretta. In the surrounding are are parking places for cars and
busses.
