The recently redesigned Museum uses modern technologies in order to
present the visitor an original, fundamentally archaic custom in all
its variety. Filmic shows transmit in a vivid way the dynamic of the
custom.
Film extracts ranging from the early 30ies to the present make it
easy for the visitor to participate in the movements, the original
power, the rhythm and of course the mysterious aspects of the mask
procession.
Well-designed slide shows with pictures covering a timeslot of 100
year present past and present of carnival activities, acoustic and
textual collages give an inside into backgrounds and various preparation
activities, as for example the carving of the wooden masks and the
construction of the carnival vehicles.
Old and new masks complete the exhibition and document the magic fascination
of the Schemenlauf in an impressive way. |
